Miner's Gold #8
Miners Gold #8 is a 160 acre un-patented gold placer mining
claim. The land is located in northwestern Pinal County, just south of
the mystical Superstition Mountains. The Dutchman himself may have
wandered across your claim on the way to his secret mine. For all we
know his high grade vein may be located somewhere on your claim. No one
really knows for sure, after all, his mine has never been found.
The claim is located within a highly mineralized district,
downstream from dozens of lode gold mines, large and small.
Through the years erosion has attacked the rich gold bearing
outcrops and created the gold placer deposits found on this claim. The
ground is littered with quartz fragments, some of these are gold
bearing, especially the rusty, reddish pieces. Placer gold, mineral
rich black sands and gold bearing quartz float have been deposited down
slope from these gold rich mines. And continues to do so, everyday,
especially following a heavy downpour. A quad, ATV or Jeep type vehicle
will make life easier to get around on the claim. Being off the beaten
trail, ensures you will have solitude while working this great placer
claim. Large, level camp sites for RV’s are found just off the claim to
the west.
A high clearance 2 wheel drive can easily get close to the claim, however, you'd be a lot happier if you had your
4x4 if you want to get off established roads. Great for Jeeps, ATV's
and pickup trucks. Look at the pictures of the road and you'll see.
The main drainage and smaller drainage’s are
loaded
with black sands, a good clue that other heavy metals including gold
are nearby. Elevations on the claim range from about 2985 feet to about
2500 feet along the wash running through the middle of the claim east
to west. Other washes drain the hills from the north, south and east.
Making this claim a haven for working gravels and sands in the numerous
washes. Bring water and lots of it, more that you think is enough, if
you head out during the summer....it's hot. There are major blocks of
solid schist in the washes that have blocked drainage and will no doubt
have goodies buried beneath. Remember..... if you find just 3 1/2
ounces of gold you've probably paid for your claim. Get out there and
find some gold!
The road to the claim is a public
road and you will have year round access to the claim, weather
permitting. There is a military area used for practice that sometimes
is closed to through traffic. There will be signs posted giving the
days and times. Usually 1-2 days. This will be your mining claim for
life, you can will it to
your children, or sell it if you desire. Mining claims are considered
an "Interest in Real Property" and therefore are dealt with by the
government just like your home. There are no taxes on mining claims in
Arizona. You are not obligated to report any of
your discoveries to any agency. Your findings are private.
All the pictures shown below are taken from this
claim, or are from the immediate area. We do the best we can to show
unique features of each claim. Trying to show everything each of you
want to see about the claim is hard to do when especially when you only
have places for 12 photos. If you have questions, take the time to ask.
Some pictures may not have been taken
from standing on the claim itself, like the aerial shot, but show what
will be found in the general
area. Most pictures are self explanatory, if you have questions please
email. We
want you to be fully informed.
